Inhalation:
Sniff directly from bottle; place several drops on a tissue and inhale deeply.  I use this
method when flying.
Scented baths are a relaxing option for inhaling aromas.

Steam inhalation:
Add 5-10 drops of essential oil to very hot water, cover both head and bowl with a
towel and inhale deeply for 2-5 minutes.

Diffusers:
Diffusers range in sophistication.  Nebulizing diffusers atomize and ionize all the
molecules of the essential oil into tiny droplets, spray them into the air and provide
maximum therapeutic benefit.

Massage:
Add 8-12 drops of oil to 1 oz. of massage oil or lotion.  Essential oils are effectively
absorbed when rubbed into the soles of the feet.  Other methods of topical application
include using oils in compresses to relieve cramps or muscle tension.  Essential oils
may be added to daily moisturizing lotion, or used directly on pulse points.

Dilution Guidelines
0.5 % = 3 drops per ounce (sensitive skin, emotional and spiritual purposes)
1% = 6 drops per ounce (recommended for children, expectant mothers, skin care)
2% = 12 drops per ounce (massage, body lotion)
3% = 18 drops per ounce (massage, body lotion)
10% = 3 ml (sixty drops) (pain, infection, usually on small body area)

Please remember…….
Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it is harmless.  Essential oils are
highly concentrated forms of plant energy.
1 drop of rose oil contains the energy of 30 roses.
1 drop of essential oil is said to have the therapeutic effect of 25 cups of herbal
infusion.
Always dilute essential oils in a carrier oil or lotion, unless otherwise instructed.
